I would very much like to study on this course and continue with my studies in gaming and game design which ultimately is also a stepping stone towards my most desired career choice in the Video Gaming Industry. Over the past two years of my course, my passion for game development and the desire for a career in the gaming industry has grown. I have always been passionate about gaming and intrigued by the development behind it. I am interested to see how the design and development process of games progress, learn how the development of games evolves and evolved over the years and finally to learn the skills necessary in a design-based career. What really inspires me is the ability to begin with ideas and progress those ideas to the final outcome of a game.
I am very inspired by concept art and this is something I would really like to explore within game development. I hope to learn this and develop my own concepts throughout the course. I am however interested in many other roles within the industry, including the role as a Games Tester, Sound Engineer, 3D modelling, Game Design (World, Level, Content, and system) and Game Journalism.
I enjoy playing games in my spare time; it’s my favourite hobby. I’ve played games since I was very young and on many different consoles such as the Playstation, Xbox, PC gaming and Nintendo consoles, so my understanding of consoles, their games and the Gaming Community is excellent. The prospect of turning my favourite interest and hobby into a career is exciting and something I’m prepared to work hard at.
I have thoroughly enjoyed 3D modelling during my current course in Interactive Media and Game Arts. It’s been very interesting, inspiring and, most importantly, enjoyable to learn. I feel I have gained a great sense of accomplishment from this module. Creating a 3D Urban Street has really sparked an interest within 3D design and has encouraged me to pursue a deeper interest in 3D Environment Modelling. I would love the opportunity to work in this area further, developing my skills to a professional level.
The great thing about game design is the ability to combine different aspects within your work. I would like to develop and combine my concept ideas with the 3D modelling aspect of the course. During my 3D Modelling module, I learnt the skills to illustrate quick concept drawings of how I intended my final model to look like. This really helped me explore my design in a different aspect, allowing me to make necessary changes for a positive final outcome.
I enjoy watching a lot of films, with my favourite genre being Sci-fi, futuristic films. A lot of Sci-fi films inspire me throughout my work and have affected the outcome of my recent 3D modelling work. I like being able to look at things from films and games, to be inspired and to be able to fit some of those ideas into my work.
Some of my favourite video game companies are BioWare for their very popular RPG, story driven games such as Star wars KOTOR and ongoing successful series, Mass Effect. Capcom for their popular survival horror Resident Evil series. Bethesda for their popular open world RPG, Elder Scrolls series and many more companies. Over the years of playing games from these companies, it has made me continuously interested in their development of games and my desire to be part of that production for a company.

Although I have explored my favourite aspects of gaming design and what I would like to specialise in, I would also like to say that I enjoy all aspects of this subject, learning the skills that will prepare me for a career in Gaming and also being in an environment that I am familiar with where I can share my interests with other students who wish to follow similar paths.
